Tom Giese Skier Development Fund
Honoring the late Tom Giese, ski coach, community leader, and father of seven-time Vasaloppet USA champion Chad Giese. The mission of the Tom Giese Skier Development Fund (TGSDF) is to continue helping the development of youth skiers through a wide range of activities such as providing funding for equipment, training programs, camps and national competitions, and coaching.

It has been another successful and rewarding year for the Tom Giese Skier Development Fund (TGSDF)!
We received more requests from eager young athletes for camps and racing opportunities than
in previous years, a sign that the future is bright for cross-country skiing in the community.
And we are thrilled to be able to support these up-and-coming skiers in the local Mora
community! As of December 2025, we are well on our way to giving back over $17,000 since
2021 when we started the fund to honor Tom’s legacy in the community. This is the result of
support from so many friends, family, and community members and businesses. We are
grateful that you are helping us support these young athletes in living out their dreams on skis.
TGSDF highlights for the year include:

TGSDF highlights for the year include:
- Covered many race entry fees for kids doing Junior National Qualifiers
- Provided ski packages for the Fast Track skiers (elementary age skiers)
- Purchased additional skis for the high school ski team
- Supported several skiers attending a pre-season ski camp in West Yellowstone, MT
- Coordinated a camp in June for the entire high school team to attend and had over 25
kids join us for fun, technique, strength, and storytelling. A good time was had by all
