The Moraloppet event has been rescheduled to Saturday March 20th and will proceed as planned at the Vasaloppet Nordic Center, same time, and same distances, beginning at 11:00 am.
The event offers 10.5 & 21km races as well as a 5km tour.
Although the race will be a mass start, starting area is set so skiers can maintain the required minimum six-foot social distancing.
COVID restrictions will also prevent an awards ceremony and pre-race access to the Nordic Center. Awards will be given to the overall first, second and third place finishers. The will be no age class awards this year.
Registration is available only online and will be open until 10:45am on the day of the event. Skiers, who are accustomed to registering via a paper registration on race morning, can use their mobile phones or a tablet to register when they arrive at the Nordic Center. Register Here
Part of your registration, plus other contributions, will be donated to the Dr. Susan Love Foundation in support of breast cancer research.
The start and finish is at the Vasaloppet Nordic Center.
The Snake Canoe Race organizing committee is making plans to hold the race this year on the traditional first Saturday in May. The May 1 race will be adjusted to meet state Covid-19 restrictions. Details of those changes will be available in the upcoming weeks. The race will follow the traditional course: starting at the County Road 3 Bridge northeast of Mora and finishing as usual on the west side of Mora. Online registration will be available beginning March 15.
