The race starts at the County Road 3 bridge east of Highway 65. Canoeists can park adjacent to the finish line area near the Kanabec History Center in Mora (six blocks west on Forest Avenue from Union Street, the main street in town).
Instead of driving to the starting area, you may wish to park at the finish located by the Kanabec History Center in Mora. Buses and canoe trailers will transport you and your canoe to the starting point. The first bus will leave at 7:00 am and the last buses leave at 8:30 am.
Canoes and kayaks will be started and timed by color-coded waves.
There are six overall canoe classes with male, female and mixed age categories within each class.
Entry Fee Schedule
$30.00 per canoe, Pro-Boat Racing Class & Open Racing Class
$30.00 per canoe, Citizen Aluminum and Non-Aluminium
$30.00 per kayak, two person (double) Kayak
$20 per canoe/kayak, Solo Class and one person (single) Kayak
Entries postmarked on or after May 1 will incur an additional $10 charge.
Race Day registrations are $20 more than what is stated as the initial fee.
$10 fee for changing class or partner. No refunds will be given.
Classes
Pro-Boat Racing Class (Class PB)
No age classes
Medals to first, second, and third place in class PBA (male), PBB (female), PBC (mixed)
Limitations: maximum length 18′-1/2’’ minimum
width 27” at 3” waterline, must contain only 2 people
Open Racing Class (Class OR)
No age classes
Medals to first, second and third place in class ORA (male), ORB (female) and ORC (mixed)
Limitations: no restrictions on size, no pro- boats or kayaks, must contain only 2 people
Citizens Class – Aluminum Division
Medals to first, second and third place finishers in Classes A thru LL

Medals to first, second and third place, male and female finishers in single kayaks (Class Z)
Medals to first, second and third place overall finishers in double kayaks (Class ZZ)
No age classes
Awards
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three overall finishers (per canoe or kayak, not person) of the event. 1st overall finisher – $150, 2nd overall finisher – $100, 3rd overall finisher – $50.
Awards (medals) will be given to first, second and third place finishers for men, women and mixed teams in each of five age groups for both Citizen Class divisions. Ages of team members, as of 12/31/15, are added together to determine age groups of 50 years and under, 51-70, 71-l00, 101-130, and over 130.
Canoe Rentals
The club has a limited number of aluminum canoes for rental. The price is $50.00, which includes paddles and life vests. These canoes can be picked up at the start area just before the race and dropped off at the finish line, so you don’t need to transport them. ONLINE CANOE RENTAL

State Law Requirements
In accordance with MN law, PFDs (personal floatation devices) are required for each paddler. Children under 10 must wear them at all times. If conditions warrant, we will highly recommend that people wear them.
