Jan. 5, 2021 Report

All trails continue to be open at the Nordic Center. Trails are in good to fair condition although skiers will encounter  occasional thin spots and with warmer weather this week some small dirt spots have appeared.  Classic tracks are set on a significant portion of the trail system but shallow in many areas. The Nordic Center building itself remains closed due to COVID restrictions.  At night the Vasaloppet Snow Farmers continue to haul Mora-Made snow onto the trail system. Skiers may encounter sections of trail that received tractor traffic the previous evening that may not be yet be re-groomed. The volunteers hauling the snow appreciate your understanding.

December 26 Trail Report
With the fresh snow on December 23rd, the trail is looking pretty good. In addition to the 700 meters of Farm Fresh snow, much of the rest of our trails were groomed with our Yellowstone and the result is some very nice conditions. Some spots, where the wind was strong, are only worthy of rock skis. For a majority of trail the skate deck is hard and flat with useable classic tracks set to the side. The Nordic Center remains closed due to the pandemic, but the new trail lights are on from dusk to 10:00pm. According to Cooper Lennox, Northern Michigan University ski team member who began as a Mora Ski Club Fast Tracker, “this is the be skiing in the midwest”. Good Luck Coop! Happy Trails!
