Snowmaking preparations for 2020 season underway
Register early and save on entry fees

Volunteers are working to finish the final touches on the second snowmaking depot, which is located on the northern end of the Vasaloppet trail system. The depot will greatly reduce the time it takes to haul snow to the northern portion of the trail system. The Vasaloppet purchased a second snowmaker last year and operated both snow machines at the Nordic Center. This year, one will be moved the new snow depot. Register here.

Vasaloppet volunteers honored at art show

The Many Faces of Vasaloppet sculpture project was on display at the Vasaloppet Nordic Center May 17-18. Visitors were able to see the aluminum casting of over 150 Vasaloppet volunteers as well as meet the artist, Keith Ravio and others who have assisted in the two-year project. The future vision is to have all the castings in a permanent outdoor display to honor the volunteer spirit of Vasaloppet USA.

A perfect day on the River

Near perfect weather greeted canoeists Saturday, May 4 for the 39th annual Snake River Canoe Race. Early morning fog quickly dissipated by the 9:30 start when 133 canoes and kayaks headed down the Snake River towards the finish line in Mora. Results

Looks like great day for canoe race

Sunny skies and warm temperatures are forecast to greet canoeists for the 39th annual Snake River Canoe Race  May 4.

Online registration closes today (Friday) at 6pm but race day registration are available at the Kanabec History Center and at the starting area. Compete details
