Skiers: A warm wait for race start

Celebration Tent one block from start line provides convenient warmth

Skiers awaiting their race start Saturday have a great place to keep warm just a block from the starting line.

The Celebration Tent provides place to change into any race clothing,, drop off your clothing bag, (pick-up is also right there) and wait until your race start.

There’s also plenty of convenient  parking around downtown Mora.

After the race skiers can enjoy the traditional free skiers lunch, use their one free adult beverage or soft drink ticket as well as cash bar service.

Snow, new course greets skiers

Skiers were greeted by three to four inches of snow for the Feb. 3 Moraloppet Ski for the Cause held at the Vasaloppet Nordic Skiing Center.

Snow fell all through the day making skiing tough going for skiers. The race included 20km and 10km races as well as a 5km Tour–all on manufactured snow.

The Moraloppet debuted a number of new sections of trail that will be part of the Vasaloppet USA race next Saturday.

Saturday’s snowfall was groomed into the manufactured snow base early Sunday morning and should make for excellent skiing conditions for the Vasaloppet!

Register today for Vasaloppet USA Feb. 10.
